Singer-songwriter Lani Rae approached Soultrane with intimate voice memos and skeletal guitar loops. She didn’t want a pop gloss—she wanted her songs to sound like memories.
Together, they sculpted a hybrid between lo-fi folk and ambient electronica, layering Lani’s acoustic storytelling with analog synths, soft beats, and buried textures. Recorded primarily at night, the sessions were quiet and deliberate.
They used cassette loops, pitch-shifted harmonics, and manipulated field recordings to create emotional undercurrents beneath Rae’s clear vocal lines. Each track evolved organically in the studio, guided more by mood than structure.
Soultrane’s production kept the songs fragile but immersive, making the space around each lyric feel intentional. The result is ‘Skeleton Notes’, a whisper-soft debut that feels like a conversation with your future self.
