A sultry soul session with understated production and breakout vocal performances.

“We built a vibe and let it speak for itself.”

Soultrane met soul singer Amara Fielding during a Brooklyn showcase and immediately sensed a project. What began as a one-song collaboration became ‘Indigo Smoke’, a four-track EP with lush Rhodes keys, quiet storm beats, and ambient guitar flourishes.

Soultrane kept the production sparse, allowing Amara’s voice to lead. Each track was built around live takes, captured on ribbon mics with tube warmth. They used analog tape for saturation and subtle delay feedback for spatial depth. The EP is a slow burn—emotionally rich, soft-spoken but confident. Amara’s vocals move between spoken word and song, guided subtly by Soultrane’s intuition for space and restraint.
