Sci-fi meets soundscape in this eerie, immersive soundtrack mix for indie film ‘Ghost Orbit’.
“He didn’t just mix it—he made the silence meaningful.”
For the indie sci-fi film ‘Ghost Orbit’, Soultrane was brought in to sculpt the final soundscape. Composer Isaac Long provided melodic motifs and ambient beds, but the mix lacked depth.
Soultrane added spectral processing, granular delays, and warped tape drones to create a living sonic environment. He tailored each cue to the film’s visuals, automating reverbs and stereo fields based on camera movement.
Mixing in 5.1 surround and stereo, he ensured each sound element translated spatially without fatigue. Soultrane also provided extra layers—metallic hits, breath-like risers, glitch textures—to enhance narrative beats. The final result was less a traditional score and more a sonic atmosphere that served the film’s dislocated tone perfectly.
